V0luntary Charity (Dawah #13)

"For those who give in charity men and women, and loan to Allah
A beautiful loan, it is shall be increased manifold
(To their credit), and
They shall have  (besides) a rich reward."
[Surah Al-Hadid, 57:18]

A pious person may also give as much as he or
She pleases as sadaqa, and does so preferably in secret.
Although this word can be translated as voluntary
Charity it has a wider meaning.

The Prophet (SAW) said:

Charity is a necessity for every Muslim.

He was asked:  What if a person has nothing?

The Prophet (SAW) replied:

"He should work with his own hands for his
Benefit and then give something out of such
Earning in charity".

The Companion asked: What if he is not able
To work?

The Prophet (SAW) replied:

He should help poor and the needy persons!

The companion further asked: What if he
Cannot do event that?

The Prophet (SAW) replied:

He should urge others to do good.

The companion said: What if he lack that also?

The Prophet (SAW) said:

He should keep himself from doing evils,

That is also charity.

Your smile is a charity, Removal of stones, thorns or bones
From the paths of people is a charity.
[Al-Bukhari]
